Simulates Erlang-ish concurrency features but Erlang supports micro-threads whereas Candygram creates real threads since there are no micro-threads in Python.

Buying an iPhone
(Photo credits: Scott Beale / Laughing Squid)
I got myself an iPhone on the last day of my trip to San Francisco. It’s the best phone I’ve ever owned (the Treo 600 doesn’t come close to it)! My favorite part of it is when I read my news feeds via the Google Reader iPhone app while I’m on the bus/MRT. Saves me atleast 20 mins!
Buying the iPhone though turned out to be a...

YSlow developer's talk at Google
What’s really interesting is the way he defines the term “front-end” in his talk - performance optimization of the front-end (according to him) does not just include Javascript code optimization but literally includes optimizing everything that a browser needs to do after the initial HTML page download in order to completely render the page. In other words, he includes...

Java Puzzlers: Fun talk at Google
Watching this video is the most fun I have ever had with Java. The two brothers who gave this talk at Google are also the authors of a book called “Java Puzzlers”. Basically it is a book full of Java puzzles - not your run-of-the-mill Java interview kinda questions! These are really interesting puzzles (some of them actually illustrate poor implementation of some methods/classes in...

Mod the (pathetic) Leopard Dock now!
Apple has made some really horrible mistakes in Leopard with the most prominent OS X UI elements - the menu bar looks ridiculous with the transparency, and in the case of the Dock you cannot clearly see those glowing dots which are supposed to represent running apps. If anyone spent even 5 seconds with Leopard, they would have realized these problems immediately!
Fortunately, it is very easy to...
